Abstract
A runner for supplying resin to a cavity includes a sprue that is supplied resin from a nozzle of an injection molding machine, a first path formed in the runner, where the resin flows in the first path from the nozzle when the nozzle connects to the sprue, a first pin that moves to a first position to increase the size of the first path before the resin is supplied to the first path and moves to a second position to decrease the size of the first path before the nozzle separates from the sprue.
Claims19
A runner for supplying resin to a cavity comprising:
- a sprue configured to be supplied resin from a nozzle of an injection molding machine;
- a first path formed in the runner, wherein the resin flows in the first path from the nozzle when the nozzle contacts the sprue;
- and
- a first pin configured to move to a first position to increase a size of the first path before the resin is supplied to the first path and to move to a second position to decrease the size of the first path before the nozzle separates from the sprue.
A runner for supplying resin to a cavity comprising:
- a sprue configured to be supplied resin from a nozzle of an injection molding machine,
- a first path formed in the runner, wherein the resin flows in the first path from the nozzle when the nozzle contacts the sprue;
- a first pin configured to move to decrease a size of the first path;
- a second path formed in the runner, wherein the resin flows in the cavity from the second path;
- and
- a second pin configured to move decrease a size of the second path,
- wherein the first pin is configured to move to decrease the size of the first path after the second pin moves to decrease the size of the second path.
An injection molding system comprising:
- a sprue configured to be supplied resin from a nozzle of an injection molding machine;
- a path formed in the sprue, wherein the resin flows in the path from the nozzle when the nozzle contacts the sprue;
- a pin movable in the path;
- and
- an actuator configured to move the pin to decrease a size of the path before the nozzle separates from the sprue.
A mold clamped by platens for injection molding that includes predetermined surfaces that contact the platens, the mold comprising:
- a first connection unit, located on a first surface of the mold different from the predetermined surfaces, connectable to an external connector for delivering a predetermined material to the mold;
- and
- a second connection unit, located on a second surface of the mold different from the predetermined surfaces, connectable to the external connector,
- wherein the injection molding is performed with the mold in a state where the external connector connects with either the first connection unit or the second connection unit.
An injection molding system for injection molding with a mold, the injection molding system comprising,
- a first connection unit, located on a first surface of the mold, connectable to external plumbing for cooling the mold;
- a second connection unit, located on a second surface of the mold, connectable to external plumbing for cooling the mold;
- a third connection unit, located on the first surface, connectable to an external connector for delivering an electric signal to the mold;
- and
- a fourth connection unit, loaded on the second surface, connectable to an external connector for delivering an electric signal to the mold,
- wherein plumbing internal to the mold is connected to the first connection unit and internal plumbing to the mold is connected to the second connection unit, and
- wherein a connector internal to the mold is connected to the third connection unit and a connector internal to the mold is connected to the fourth connection unit.
