Abstract
In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, a real time location services (RTLS) system, comprises one or more location anchor beacons configured to output a location anchor signal indicative of a location of the location anchor beacon in a physical space. One or more readers are configured to receive an asset tag signal from one or more asset tag beacons which are configured to receive the location anchor signal from the one or more location anchors. A location module is configured to receive the asset tag signal and to determine a physical location of the one or more asset tag beacons based on information indicative of a proximity to one or more of the one or more location anchor beacons included in the asset tag signal.
Claims20
A real time location services (RTLS) system, comprising:
- one or more location anchor beacons configured to output a location anchor signal indicative of a location of the location anchor beacon in a physical space;
- one or more readers configured to receive an asset tag signal from one or more asset tag beacons which are configured to receive the location anchor signal from the one or more location anchors;
- and
- a location module configured to receive the asset tag signal and to determine a physical location of the one or more asset tag beacons based on information indicative of a proximity to one or more of the one or more location anchor beacons included in the asset tag signal.
An asset tag beacon for a real time location services system (RTLS), comprising:
- a module configured to:
- operate in a listening mode to receive a location anchor signal from one or more location anchor beacons associated with one or more physical locations;
- create an asset tag advertising package indicating a proximity to one or more location anchor beacons based on the one or more location anchor signals;
- and
- operate in a transmit mode to output the created asset tag advertising package to one or more readers.
A Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) reader for a real time location services system (RTLS), comprising:
- a module configured to acquire asset tag advertising packages having information indicative of information included in a location anchor signal transmitted from a location anchor beacon;
- and
- a location module configured to decipher the acquired asset tag advertising package to determine a location of the respective asset tag beacon in physical space based on the information included in the location anchor signal which is indicated by the asset tag advertising packages.
