Abstract
A video encoder may be configured to encode multiple adaptive loop filter sets in an adaptation parameter set associated with the video data. A video decoder may receive the multiple adaptive loop filter sets in the adaptation parameter set associated with video data, determine one or more adaptive loop filters from the multiple adaptive loop filter sets, and apply the determined one or more adaptive loop filters to the video data.
Claims24
A method of decoding video data, the method comprising:
- receiving multiple adaptive loop filter sets in an adaptation parameter set associated with the video data;
- decoding, for a luma coding tree block of the video data, a filter set index that indicates a particular adaptive loop filter set of the multiple adaptive loop filter sets in the adaptation parameter set;
- decoding, for the luma coding tree block, a filter index that indicates a particular adaptive loop filter from the particular adaptive loop filter set;
- and
- applying the particular adaptive loop filter to the luma coding tree block of the video data.

An apparatus configured to decode video data, the apparatus comprising:
- a memory configured to store the video data;
- and
- one or more processors implemented in circuitry and in communication with the memory, the one or more processors configured to:
- receive multiple adaptive loop filter sets in an adaptation parameter set associated with the video data;
- decode, for a luma coding tree block of the video data, a filter set index that indicates a particular adaptive loop filter set of the multiple adaptive loop filter sets in the adaptation parameter set;
- decode, for the luma coding tree block, a filter index that indicates a particular adaptive loop filter from the particular adaptive loop filter set;
- and
- apply the particular adaptive loop filter to the luma coding tree block of the video data.

An apparatus configured to decode video data, the apparatus comprising:
- means for receiving multiple adaptive loop filter sets in an adaptation parameter set associated with the video data;
- means for decoding, for a luma coding tree block of the video data, a filter set index that indicates a particular adaptive loop filter set of the multiple adaptive loop filter sets in the adaptation parameter set;
- means for decoding, for the luma coding tree block, a filter index that indicates a particular adaptive loop filter from the particular adaptive loop filter set;
- and
- means for applying the particular adaptive loop filter to the luma coding tree block of the video data.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause one or more processors of a device configured to decode video data to:
- receive multiple adaptive loop filter sets in an adaptation parameter set associated with the video data;
- decode, for a luma coding tree block of the video data, a filter set index that indicates a particular adaptive loop filter set of the multiple adaptive loop filter sets in the adaptation parameter set;
- decode, for the luma coding tree block, a filter index that indicates a particular adaptive loop filter from the particular adaptive loop filter set;
- and
- apply the particular adaptive loop filter to the luma coding tree block of the video data.
