Abstract
Various implementations described herein relate to systems and methods for providing data protection and recovery for drive failures, including receiving, by a storage device, a write request from a host operatively coupled to a storage device, and determining, by the storage device instead of the host, an XOR result by performing an XOR operation of new data and existing data. The new data is received from the host. The existing data is stored in the non-volatile storage.
Claims20
A storage device, comprising:
- a non-volatile storage;
- and
- a controller configured to:
- receive a write request from a host operatively coupled to the storage device;
- and
- determine an XOR result by performing an XOR operation of new data and existing data, the new data is received from the host, and the existing data is stored in the non-volatile storage.
A method, comprising:
- receiving, by a controller of a storage device operatively coupled to a host through an interface, a write request from the host;
- and
- determining, by the controller, an XOR result by performing an XOR operation of new data and existing data, the new data is received from the host, and the existing data is stored in the non-volatile storage.
A non-transitory computer-readable media comprising computer-readable instructions, such that, when executed, causes a processor to:
- receive a write request from a host operatively coupled to the storage device;
- and
- determine an XOR result by performing an XOR operation of new data and existing data, the new data is received from the host, and the existing data is stored in the non-volatile storage.
