Abstract
A system can determine an accurate technical limit for a wellbore drilling operation using machine learning. A computing device can receive real-time data of the wellbore drilling operation; apply a machine-learning algorithm to the real-time data to determine a lost connection of the wellbore drilling operation; apply the machine-learning algorithm to determine correlations between the real-time data and historic drilling reports; and determine the technical limit for the wellbore drilling operation based on the correlations.

A system comprising:
- a processing device;
- and
- a memory device that includes instructions executable by the processing device for causing the processing device to:
- receive real-time data of a wellbore drilling operation;
- apply a machine-learning algorithm to the real-time data to determine a lost connection of the wellbore drilling operation;
- apply the machine-learning algorithm to determine correlations between the real-time data and historic drilling reports;
- and
- determine a technical limit for the wellbore drilling operation based on the correlations.
A method comprising:
- receiving real-time data of a wellbore drilling operation;
- applying a machine-learning algorithm to the real-time data to determine a lost connection of the wellbore drilling operation;
- applying the machine-learning algorithm to determine correlations between the real-time data and historic drilling reports;
- and
- determining a technical limit for the wellbore drilling operation based on the correlations.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that are executable by a processing device for causing the processing device to perform operations comprising:
- receiving real-time data of a wellbore drilling operation;
- applying a machine-learning algorithm to the real-time data to determine a lost connection of the wellbore drilling operation;
- applying the machine-learning algorithm to determine correlations between the real-time data and historic drilling reports;
- and
- determining a technical limit for the wellbore drilling operation based on the correlations.
