Abstract
Styrenic polymers created via the depolymerization of a polystyrene feedstock. In some embodiments the polystyrene feedstock contains recycled polystyrene. In some embodiments, the styrenic polymers contain olefins, iron, titanium, and/or zinc.
Claims19
A composition comprising:
- (a) at least about 75% by weight of a styrenic polymer with molecular weight between 1,000-200,000 amu wherein said styrenic polymer was derived from depolymerization of a polystyrene feedstock.
A composition comprising:
- (a) at least about 75% by weight of a styrenic polymer with molecular weight between 1,000-200,000 amu wherein said styrenic polymer was derived from a catalytic depolymerization of a polystyrene feedstock,
- wherein said polystyrene feedstock comprises greater than 5% post-consumer recycle derived reclaimed polystyrene,
- wherein said styrenic polymer comprises between 0.1-5% olefin content on the backbone of the chain,
- wherein said styrenic polymer comprises greater than 50 ppm of zinc,
- wherein said styrenic polymer comprises greater than 20 ppm titanium, and
- wherein said styrenic polymer comprises greater than 20 ppm iron.
