Methods are disclosed for treating a subject with metabolic syndrome, fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, inflammation or elevated body weight using hepatic ultrasound.

A method for one or more of treating metabolic syndrome, treating fatty liver disease, improving insulin resistance, treating inflammation and decreasing body weight in a subject in need thereof comprising applying ultrasound to the hepatic system of the subject in an amount effective to one or more of treat metabolic syndrome, treat fatty liver disease, improve insulin resistance, treat inflammation and decrease body weight.
