Abstract
The present invention provides a collagen solid having higher strength and density. A collagen solid is used which contains a collagen-cysteine protease degradation product or an atelocollagen-cysteine protease degradation product and has a density of 50 mg/cm3 or more.
Claims10
A collagen solid, comprising a collagen-cysteine protease degradation product or an atelocollagen-cysteine protease degradation product, wherein:
- said collagen solid has a density of 50 mg/cm3 or more;
- each of the collagen-cysteine protease degradation product and the atelocollagen-cysteine protease degradation product includes a triple helical domain of collagen;
- the triple helical domain includes at least 100 amino acid sequences represented by Gly-X-Y (where each of X and Y is any amino acid);
- and
- in each of the collagen-cysteine protease degradation product and the atelocollagen-cysteine protease degradation product, three polypeptide chains form a helical structure.
