Abstract
The invention provides compositions and methods for treating conditions associated with decreased activity of hydrogen sulfide.
Claims20
A method comprising, treating a disease or condition that is associated with decreased activity of H2S in an animal in need thereof, by administering to the animal, an effective amount of a compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt that releases 3-mercaptopyruvate in the animal.
The method of claim 24, wherein a salt of the compound of formula (I) is administered.
A method comprising, administering an effective H2S producing amount of a compound:
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to a human that has been identified as having a disease or condition associated with decreased activity of H2S.
