Aerosol-generating system and cartridge with leakage protection

A system, comprising:

• a first component comprising a first fluidic channel, a first airflow passage, and a reservoir holding an aerosol-generating substrate, the first fluidic channel being fluidically coupled to the reservoir;
• a second component comprising a second fluidic channel and a second airflow passage;
• a joint rotatably coupling the first component to the second component, wherein rotation, via the joint, of the first component and the second component from a first angle to a second angle relative to one another couples the first fluidic channel to the second fluidic channel and couples the first airflow passage to the second airflow passage;
• and
• a breakable member coupled to the first component and the second component, wherein the rotation of the first component and the second component relative to one another breaks the breakable member.

A method, comprising:

• providing a first component comprising a first fluidic channel, a first airflow passage, and a reservoir holding an aerosol-generating substrate, the first fluidic channel being fluidically coupled to the reservoir;
• providing a second component comprising a second fluidic channel and a second airflow passage;
• providing a breakable member coupled to the first component and the second component;
• providing a joint rotatably coupling the first component to the second component;
• and
• rotating, via the joint, the first component and the second component from a first angle to a second angle relative to one another so as to break the breakable member, to couple the first fluidic channel to the second fluidic channel, and to couple the first airflow passage to the second airflow passage.
