Abstract
A new watermelon line designated ‘WL0002’ is described. ‘WL0002’ is a watermelon line exhibiting stability and uniformity.
Claims16
A watermelon seed designated as ‘WL0002’, representative sample of seed having been deposited under NCIMB Accession Number X1.
A watermelon plant having all the physiological and morphological characteristics of the watermelon plant of claim 2. A plant part from the plant of claim 6.
The plant part of claim 7, wherein said part is a leaf, an ovule, a pollen grain, a seed, a fruit, a cell, or a portion thereof.
A method of producing watermelon seed, the method comprising:
- (a) crossing a first ‘WL0002’ watermelon plant, representative sample of seed having been deposited under NCIMB Accession Number X1, with a second diploid watermelon plant;
- and
- (b) harvesting the resulting triploid seed.
