Abstract
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a handling uplink listen before talk (LBT) procedure failures in unlicensed bands of 5G NR. A wireless device may count a number of failed transmissions due to LBT procedure failures, e.g., that may occur in one or more transmit/receive occasions. The wireless device may determine that the count has met a threshold, e.g., that a number of failed transmissions has reached the threshold. The wireless device may initiate a recovery procedure based on determining that the count has met the threshold.
Claims20
A user equipment device (UE), comprising:
- at least one antenna;
- at least one radio, wherein the at least one radio is configured to perform cellular communication using at least one radio access technology (RAT);
- and
- one or more processors communicatively coupled to the at least one radio, wherein the one or more processors and the at least one radio are configured to perform voice and/or data communications;
- wherein the one or more processors are configured to cause the UE to:
- track a number of failed transmissions due to a listen before talk (LBT) procedure failure;
- determine that the number of failed transmissions due to LBT procedure failures has met a threshold;
- and
- initiate a recovery procedure based on determining that the number of failed transmissions due to LBT procedure failure has met a threshold.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor in communication with the memory, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- count instances of failed transmissions due to a listen before talk (LBT) procedure failure;
- and
- initiate, based on determining that the count has reached a threshold, a recovery procedure.
A non-transitory memory medium storing program instructions executable by processing circuitry to cause a user equipment device (UE) to:
- monitor a number of transmission failures due to a listen before talk (LBT) procedure failure;
- determine that the number of transmission failures has reached a threshold;
- and
- initiate a recovery procedure based on determining that the number of transmission failures has reached the threshold.
