Image matching apparatus, image matching method, and program

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium in which a computer program is stored, the computer program comprising instructions for causing an image information apparatus to execute processes to:

• specify a common region between a first image and a second image;
• generate a first replaced image and a second image, the first image being an image in which a brightness value of the common region of the first image is replaced based on pixels in the first image, the second replaced image being an image in which a brightness value of the common region of the second image is replaced based on pixels in the second image;
• and
• perform matching between the first image and the second image based on frequency characteristics of the first replaced image and the second replaced image.

An image matching method comprising:

• specifying a common region between a first image and a second image;
• generating a first replaced image and a second image, the first image being an image in which a brightness value of the common region of the first image is replaced based on pixels in the first image, the second replaced image being an image in which a brightness value of the common region of the second image is replaced based on pixels in the second image;
• and
• performing matching between the first image and the second image based on frequency characteristics of the first replaced image and the second replaced image.
