Abstract

An example system for measuring three-dimensional (3D) coordinate values of an environment is provided. The system includes a mobile scanning platform configured to measure coordinates in the environment. The mobile scanning platform has one or more radio antennas. The system further includes one or more processors operably coupled to the mobile scanning platform, the one or more processors being responsive to nontransitory executable instructions for performing a method. The method includes registering the measured coordinates to generate a point cloud. Registering includes triangulating a position of the mobile scanning platform based at least in part on data received from the one or more radio antennas. Registering further includes adjusting an orientation or position of one or more of the measured coordinates to align with a layout of the environment.
