Abstract
Provided herein are methods of using BMP7 levels as a marker for the selection of patients, such as non-small cell lung cancer patients, who will clinically respond to combination therapy comprising a BMP7 inhibitor and an immune checkpoint therapy, such as an anti-PD1 therapy and/or an anti-CTLA-4 therapy. Also provided are methods of treating the selected patients with a combination of a BMP7 inhibitor and an immune checkpoint therapy.
Claims91
A method for the treatment of a cancer in a patient, the method comprising administering to the patient a combined effective amount of a BMP7 inhibitor and an immune checkpoint inhibitor.
A method of selecting a patient having a cancer for treatment with a combined effective amount of a BMP7 inhibitor and an immune checkpoint inhibitor, the method comprising (a) determining whether the patient's cancer has an increased level of BMP7 relative to a BMP7 level in a reference sample, and (b) selecting the patient for treatment if the patient's cancer has an increased level of BMP7 relative to a BMP7 level in a reference sample.
A pharmaceutical formulation comprising a BMP7 inhibitor and an immune checkpoint inhibitor.
The formulation of any one of claims 77-85, wherein the BMP7 inhibitor is comprised in a nanoshuttle for controlled intratumoral delivery.
