Abstract
Stemless components and fracture stems for joint arthroplasty, such as shoulder arthroplasty, are disclosed. Also, methods and devices are disclosed for the optimization of shoulder arthroplasty component design through the use of medical imaging data, such as computed tomography scan data.
Claims25
A prosthesis comprising:
- a central body having a longitudinal axis normal to a reference plane that extends through the central body;
- at least five fins extending laterally from an outer surface of the central body, the at least five fins being spaced apart around the outer surface of the central body,
- wherein spacing of the at least five fins is asymmetric in the reference plane.
A prosthesis comprising:
- a central body having a longitudinal axis normal to a reference plane that extends through the central body;
- a plurality of fins extending laterally from an outer surface of the central body, the plurality of fins being spaced apart around the outer surface of the central body,
- wherein spacing of the plurality of fins is asymmetric in the reference plane,
- wherein all of the plurality of fins do not create bilateral symmetry of all of the plurality of fins with respect to a longitudinal plane containing the longitudinal axis due to the spacing in the reference plane of the plurality of fins, and
- wherein a first fin of the plurality of fins aligns with a lesser tuberosity of a humerus of a subject at an angle ranging from 58.29 degrees up to and including 83.52 degrees from a vertical axis of the prosthesis.
