Ultraviolet pathogen disinfection system

A pathogen disinfection system for a seating arrangement comprising:

• a light array comprising a plurality of ultraviolet (UV) light sources and a plurality of visible light sources;
• wherein the light array is disposed above a table of a seating arrangement, the seating arrangement comprising the table and at least one seating surface;
• wherein each UV light source of the plurality of UV light sources and each visible light source of the plurality of visible light sources is individually configurable to be directed towards corresponding individual target surface areas of the seating arrangement so that the plurality of UV light sources and the plurality of light sources of the light array are collectively configured in individual directions to emit both UV and visible light in a plurality of individual light beams that combine to produce a collective light beam to illuminate and disinfect a collective target surface area of the seating arrangement;
• wherein each UV light source is configured to emit ultraviolet light having a mean peak wavelength between 200-280 nanometer to at least partially inactivate pathogens exposed to the emitted UV light in a light path between the respective UV light source and its corresponding individual target surface area;
• wherein each of the UV lights sources and visible light sources in the plurality of light source sets are active in a first mode to collectively illuminate the collective target surface area with UV light and a first visible light having a first color or intensity indicating that the UV light sources are active and the system is disinfecting the collective target area;
• wherein each of the plurality of visible light sources in the plurality of light source sets are active in a second mode to collectively illuminate the collective target surface area with a second visible light having a second color or intensity when the UV light sources are inactive;
• and
• a controller configured to send a first signal to the light array to activate the light array in the first mode and a second signal to activate the light array to in the second mode.

A pathogen disinfection system for a seating arrangement comprising:

• a first light array disposed above a table of a seating arrangement and configured to emit UV light in a downward direction toward the seating arrangement, wherein the seating arrangement comprises the table and at least one seating surface;
• wherein the first light array comprises a plurality of individual ultraviolet (UV) light sources and a plurality of visible light sources, wherein each UV light source of the plurality of UV light sources and each visible light source of the plurality of visible light sources is individually configurable to be directed towards corresponding individual target surface areas of the seating arrangement so that the plurality of UV light sources and the plurality of light sources of the light array are collectively configured in individual directions to emit both UV and visible light in a plurality of individual light beams that combine to produce a collective light beam to illuminate and disinfect a collective target surface area of the seating arrangement;
• wherein each UV light source is configured to emit UV light having a mean peak wavelength between 200-280 nanometer in a disinfection mode to at least partially inactivate pathogens exposed to the emitted UV light in a light path between the respective UV light source and its corresponding individual target surface area;
• wherein each visible light source is configured to emit a visible light beam having a first color or intensity in a first mode and a second color or intensity in a second mode;
• and
• wherein the collective light beam, in a first mode, is configured to cover the collective target surface area of the seating arrangement in both visible light of the first color or intensity to serve as warning light and UV light to disinfect the collective target surface area of the seating arrangement, and the collective light beam, in a second mode, is configured to cover the collective target surface area of the seating arrangement with only visible light of the second color or intensity to serve as ambient lighting.
