Methods for the generation of sensorineural hair cells, and more particularly to the use of epigenetic modulation of Atoh1 expression using a combination of Histone Lysine Demethylase (KDM) inhibitors and Wnt activators to generate sensorineural hair cells.

Dependent claims

A method for treating sensorineural hearing loss associated with loss of auditory hair cells or balance loss associated with a loss of vestibular hair cells in a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject:

(i) a pharmaceutical composition comprising a Histone Lysine Demethylase (KDM) inhibitor;
and
(ii) a pharmaceutical composition comprising a Wnt agonist.
