Abstract
Methods of treating a disease caused by a positive strand RNA virus. The methods include administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of Formula I or Formula II.
Claims20
A method of treating a disease caused by a positive strand RNA virus, the method comprising:
- identifying a subject suffering from the disease, and
- administering to the subject an effective amount of a compound of Formula I:
- wherein
- each of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, and R15, independently, is H, halo, alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, heteroaryl, heterocycloalkyl, OH, alkoxy, carbonyloxy, or amino;
- each of R16 and R17, independently, is H, halo, alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, heteroaryl, heterocycloalkyl, OH, alkoxy, carbonyloxy, or amino, or R16 and R17 together are a single bond;
- each of and , independently, is a single bond or a double bond;
- and
- n is 1, 2 or 3,
- provided that when is a single bond, X is C═O or CR′R″ and Y is N or N+→O−, and when is a double bond, X is CR′, Y is N+, and a counterion coexists in the compound, each of R′ and R″, independently, being H, halo, alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, heteroaryl, heterocycloalkyl, OH, alkoxy, or amino.
