Apparatus and method for treating shoes

A shoe treating apparatus, comprising:

• a cabinet having at least one storage space configured to store at least one shoe;
• a door configured to open and close the at least one storage space;
• at least one sensor;
• a display;
• a memory, the memory storing a plurality of tapping patterns, each tapping pattern being associated with a corresponding function of the shoe treating apparatus;
• and
• a processor electrically connected to the at least one sensor, the display, and the memory, the processor being configured to:
• detect, by the at least one sensor, an input tapping pattern;
• match the input tapping pattern to a first pattern of the plurality of tapping patterns;
• and
• cause the shoe treating apparatus to perform a function corresponding to the first pattern.

A method of operating a shoe treating apparatus, the method comprising:

• displaying, through a display, a screen for setting a first tapping pattern for controlling a corresponding function of the shoe treating apparatus;
• identifying, by at least one sensor, the first tapping pattern for controlling the corresponding function of the shoe treating apparatus;
• matching, by a processor, the identified first tapping pattern to the corresponding function of the shoe treating apparatus;
• and
• storing the matched result in a memory.
