Abstract
Disclosed herein are compositions comprising oxygen, a sugar or sugar alcohol, and an amino acid, wherein the amino acid is present in an amount sufficient to stabilize the oxygen. Also provided are aqueous diagnostic quality controls or calibration reagents and methods of stabilizing oxygen in a liquid solution.

A composition comprising:
- oxygen, a sugar or sugar alcohol, and an amino acid, wherein the amino acid is present in an amount sufficient to stabilize the oxygen.
A method of stabilizing oxygen in a liquid solution, the method comprising:
- adding a stabilizing amount of an amino acid to the liquid solution, wherein the liquid solution contains oxygen and a sugar or sugar alcohol.
