Alley vacuum dumping receptacle for manure dilution with sand gates

An apparatus for receiving a manure payload from a vacuum truck, the apparatus comprising:

• a flume valve mounted on a water pipe, the flume valve being configured to selectively interrupt a flow of water into a mixing basin;
• the mixing basin being defined by walls and a metering bulkhead;
• the metering bulkhead being situated to separate the mixing basin from a sand settling lane vestibule and, further, defining:
• a weir having a weir height;
• and
• a sand gate configured to selectively open and close, when closed, the sand gate is configured to impound a pool of water to fill the mixing basin at least to the weir height;
• the sand settling lane vestibule;
• and
• a flush controller including:
• a manure flow sensor to sense the release of manure from the vacuum truck;
• and
• a duty cycle timer to initiate each of six distinct intervals within a duty cycle, the six intervals commencing, in turn by:
• sensing an initiation of the release of manure from the vacuum truck;
• sensing a completion of the release of manure from the vacuum truck;
• closing the flume valve to interrupt the flow of water into the mixing basin;
• opening the sand gate to allow release of impounded pool manure suspension;
• opening the flume valve to resume the flow of water into the mixing basin;
• and
• closing the sand gate to collect water issuing through the flume valve to pool in the mixing basin.

A flush controller for controlling a flume valve and a sand gate in a mixing basin for receiving a payload of manure from a vacuum truck, the flush controller including:

• a manure flow sensor to sense the release of manure from the vacuum truck;
• and
• a duty cycle timer to initiate each of six distinct intervals within a duty cycle, the six intervals commencing, in turn by:
• sensing an initiation of the release of manure from the vacuum truck;
• sensing a completion of the release of manure from the vacuum truck;
• closing the flume valve to interrupt the flow of water into the mixing basin;
• opening the sand gate to allow release of impounded pool manure suspension;
• opening the flume valve to resume the flow of water into the mixing basin;
• and
• closing the sand gate to collect water issuing through the flume valve to pool in the mixing basin.
