## CPC

- H04N 19/70: characterised by syntax aspects related to video coding, e.g. related to compression standards
- H04N 19/188: {the unit being a video data packet, e.g. a network abstraction layer [NAL] unit}
- H04N 19/423: characterised by memory arrangements (H04N19/433 takes precedence)
- H04N 19/46: Embedding additional information in the video signal during the compression process (H04N19/517, H04N19/68, H04N19/70 take precedence)
- H04N: PICTORIAL COMMUNICATION, e.g. TELEVISION

## Abstract

An encoder includes circuitry and memory coupled to the circuitry. In operation, the circuitry: writes, into a sequence parameter set which is header information of a sequence, video usability information syntax which is information for realizing an additional function in display of an image, and syntax different from the video usability information syntax. The syntax includes at least one parameter related to display timing of the image.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An encoder, comprising:
circuitry; and
memory coupled to the circuitry, wherein
in operation, the circuitry:
writes, into a sequence parameter set which is header information of a sequence, video usability information syntax which is information for realizing an additional function in display of an image, and syntax different from the video usability information syntax, and
the syntax includes at least one parameter related to display timing of the image.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The encoder according to claim 1, wherein
the circuitry writes, into the sequence parameter set, a flag indicating whether the syntax is provided in the sequence parameter set.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The encoder according to claim 1, wherein
the circuitry writes the syntax into the sequence parameter set before the video usability information syntax.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The encoder according to claim 1, wherein
the at least one parameter includes a parameter indicating a total number of time units per 1 clock tick.

### Claim 5

A decoder, comprising:
circuitry; and
memory coupled to the circuitry, wherein
in operation, the circuitry:
reads, from a sequence parameter set which is header information of a sequence, video usability information syntax which is information for realizing an additional function in display of an image, and syntax different from the video usability information syntax, and
the syntax includes at least one parameter related to display timing of the image.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The decoder according to claim 5, wherein
the circuitry reads, from the sequence parameter set, a flag indicating whether the syntax is provided in the sequence parameter set.

### Claim 7 (depends on 5)

The decoder according to claim 5, wherein
the circuitry reads the syntax from the sequence parameter set before the video usability information syntax.

### Claim 8 (depends on 5)

The decoder according to claim 5, wherein
the at least one parameter includes a parameter indicating a total number of time units per 1 clock tick.

### Claim 9

An encoding method, comprising:
writing, into a sequence parameter set which is header information of a sequence, video usability information syntax which is information for realizing an additional function in display of an image, and syntax different from the video usability information syntax, wherein
the syntax includes at least one parameter related to display timing of the image.

### Claim 10

A decoding method, comprising:
reading, from a sequence parameter set which is header information of a sequence, video usability information syntax which is information for realizing an additional function in display of an image, and syntax different from the video usability information syntax, wherein
the syntax includes at least one parameter related to display timing of the image.
