• to a fluid comprising particles, the fluid being disposed within a flow chamber having an oblate cross section that has a minor axis and a major axis,
• applying acoustic radiation pressure from a vibration source such that the particles are acoustically focused in a plane along the major axis and at a location along the minor axis.
