Abstract
A fixation device for securing a linear element to a workpiece includes a contact component and a fixation component. The contact component typically includes (i) a first contact surface for application to a workpiece and (ii) a first opening for receiving a linear element. The fixation component typically secures a portion of the linear element on a side of the first contact component opposite the first contact surface. The fixation component engages the contact component to prevent passage of the linear element's secured portion through the workpiece when a tension is applied to the linear element in a direction opposite the contact surface.
Claims23
A fixation device for securing a linear element to a workpiece, the fixation device comprising:
- a contact component configured to be engaged against a workpiece;
- an opening configured to receive a linear element;
- and
- a fixation component configured to secure a portion of the linear element to the fixation device,
- wherein the fixation component is connected to, and extends away from, the contact component, and
- wherein the fixation component is configured to be bent into engagement with the contact component so that an angle defined between the fixation component and the contact component is reduced to reduce a height of the fixation device.
A fixation device for securing a linear element to a workpiece, the fixation device comprising:
- a contact component configured to be engaged against a workpiece;
- an opening configured to receive a linear element;
- and
- a fixation component configured to secure a portion of the linear element to the fixation device,
- wherein the fixation component is connected to, and extends away from, the contact component,
- wherein the fixation device is configured to be bent so that an angle defined between the fixation component and the contact component is reduced, and
- wherein at least a portion of the opening is defined by the contact component, and the fixation device is configured so that at least a portion of the fixation component is received in the opening defined by the contact component in response to fixation device being bent.
A fixation device for securing a linear element to a workpiece, the fixation device comprising:
- a contact component configured to be engaged against a workpiece;
- an opening configured to receive a linear element;
- and
- a fixation component configured to secure a portion of the linear element to the fixation device,
- wherein the fixation component is connected to, and extends away from, the contact component,
- wherein the fixation device is configured to be bent so that an angle defined between the fixation component and the contact component is reduced, and
- wherein the contact component comprises a receptacle, and the fixation device is configured so that at least a portion of the fixation component is received in the receptacle in response to fixation device being bent.
A fixation device for securing a linear element to a workpiece, the fixation device comprising:
- a contact component configured to be engaged against a workpiece;
- an opening configured to receive a linear element;
- and
- a fixation component configured to secure a portion of the linear element to the fixation device,
- wherein the fixation component is connected to, and extends away from, the contact component,
- wherein the fixation device is configured to be bent so that an angle defined between the fixation component and the contact component is reduced, and
- wherein:
- the contact component is a first contact component;
- the fixation component is a first fixation component;
- the fixation device further comprises:
- a second contact component configured to be engaged against a workpiece, and
- a second fixation component configured to secure a portion of the linear element;
- the second fixation component is connected to, and extends away from, the second contact component;
- and
- the first fixation component and the second fixation component are connected to one another so that the first fixation component and the second fixation component are positioned between the first contact component and the second contact component.
