## Abstract

A method of displaying a function of a button of an ultrasound apparatus on the button includes displaying information about one or more functions provided by the ultrasound apparatus, selecting one from among the one or more functions which have been displayed, determining a button in which the selected function is to be set based on an external input signal for matching the selected function to the button in which the selected function is to be set; and displaying information about the selected function on the determined button.

## Claims

### Claim at position 1

1-9. (canceled)

### Claim 10

An ultrasound apparatus comprising:
a touch screen control panel;
at least one memory storing instructions; and
at least one processor which executes the stored instructions to:
control the touch screen control panel to display a plurality of labels respectively representing a plurality of functions of the ultrasound apparatus and a plurality of virtual buttons,
select a first label representing a first function from among the plurality of labels, in response to a touch input received by the touch screen control panel,
match the selected first label to a first virtual button from among the plurality of virtual buttons which is determined based on a drag-and-drop input received by the touch screen control panel, and
control the touch screen control panel to display the first label on the first virtual button,
wherein the first virtual button is operable to cause the ultrasound apparatus to perform the function represented by the first label.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The ultrasound apparatus of claim 10, wherein
the touch screen control panel receives the drag-and-drop input from a user of the ultrasound apparatus, and
the at least one processor further executes the stored instructions to:
determine the first virtual button from among the plurality of the virtual button in which the selected first label is to be matched, based on the received drag-and-drop input.

### Claim 12 (depends on 10)

The ultrasound apparatus of claim 10, wherein the plurality of labels respectively represent the plurality of functions by using letters, numbers, symbols, or images.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The ultrasound apparatus of claim 12, wherein the letters, numbers, symbols, or images are editable based on user inputs received by the touch screen control panel.

### Claim 14 (depends on 10)

The ultrasound apparatus of claim 10, wherein the at least one processor further executes the stored instructions to:
perform enlargement, reduction, or rotation on a respective virtual button of the plurality of virtual buttons based on a user input received by the touch screen control panel.

### Claim 15 (depends on 10)

The ultrasound apparatus of claim 10, wherein the at least one processor further executes the stored instructions to:
control the touch screen control panel to blink a backlight of at least one virtual button, from among the plurality of virtual buttons, in which a function is not matched.

### Claim 16 (depends on 10)

The ultrasound apparatus of claim 10, wherein the at least one processor further executes the stored instructions to:
control the touch screen control panel to display a virtual trackball.

### Claim 17

A method of operating an ultrasound apparatus, the method comprising:
displaying, on a touch screen control panel of the ultrasound apparatus, a plurality of labels respectively representing a plurality of functions of the ultrasound apparatus and a plurality of virtual buttons;
selecting, in response to a touch input received by the touch screen control panel, a first label representing a first function from among the plurality of labels;
matching the selected first label to a first virtual button from among the plurality of virtual buttons which is determined based on a drag-and-drop input received by the touch screen control panel; and
displaying the first label on the first virtual button,
wherein the first virtual button is operable to cause the ultrasound apparatus to perform the function represented by the first label.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein the matching the selected first label to the first virtual button comprises:
receiving the drag-and-drop input from a user of the ultrasound apparatus, by the touch screen control panel; and
determining the first virtual button from among the plurality of the virtual button in which the selected first label is to be matched, based on the received drag-and-drop input.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein the plurality of labels respectively represent the plurality of functions by using letters, numbers, symbols, or images.

### Claim 20 (depends on 19)

The method of claim 19, wherein the letters, numbers, symbols, or images are editable based on user inputs received by the touch screen control panel.

### Claim 21 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, further comprising:
performing enlargement, reduction, or rotation on a respective virtual button of the plurality of virtual buttons based on a user input received by the touch screen control panel.

### Claim 22 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, further comprising:
blinking a backlight of the touch screen control panel corresponding to at least one virtual button in which a function is not matched, from among the plurality of virtual buttons.

### Claim 23 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, further comprising:
displaying a virtual trackball on the touch screen control panel.
