Abstract
A rapid virus and pathogen detector using RF and Dielectric Spectroscopy. The targeted virus or pathogen is identified by active illumination by RF energy and analysis of the response RF signal.
Claims20
An RF detection device for testing samples and surfaces for viruses and pathogens comprising:
- one or more sample containers to receive a sample each sample container having walls and interior surface and an exterior surface;
- at least one antenna to transmit and receive RF radiation positioned in or near each sample, each sample is exposed to RF radiation and responds signal;
- one or more channel sensitive RF receiver connected to the at least one antenna;
- a signal processing unit to detect the presence of a target virus or pathogens connected to the one or more channel sensitive RF receiver by comparing the spectra of a target virus or pathogen against a signature;
- and
- a reporting unit connected to the signal processing unit to report results.
3 more elements
A method to detect target viruses and pathogen in samples comprising:
- a. receiving a sample in a sample holder;
- b. illuminating the sample with RF radiation;
- c. receiving an RF signal response by the sample;
- d. amplifying the response analog signal;
- e. tuning the response signal;
- f. filtering the response signal;
- g. transforming the response signal;
- h. converting the response from analog to digital;
- i. creating a target virus or pathogen spectrum signature;
- j. comparing the response digital signature against the target virus or pathogen spectrum signature;
- and
- k. reporting the comparison result.
