Abstract
Golf ball incorporating at least one layer comprised of at least one polyethylene-based vitrimer, which may comprise a blend of polyethylene and dioxaborolane maleimide, and in some embodiments, be blended with thermoplastics such as ionomers and/or polyurethanes.
Claims27
A golf ball comprising a core;
- at least one intermediate layer surrounding the core that is comprised of at least one cross-linked polymer comprising a polyethylene-based vitrimer;
- wherein the polyethylene-based vitrimer comprises a polyethylene backbone, that is grafted with dioxaborolane maleimide, and a crosslinker containing dioxaborolane functional groups;
- and a cover that surrounds the intermediate layer.
