## Abstract

A method of treating a non-human animal subject includes irradiating, one or more times, light having a peak wavelength in a range of 315-335 nm to an affected area of the animal subject.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An apparatus for treating an animal subject, comprising:
a first light source configured to emit light having a peak wavelength in a range of 315-335 nm and configured to irradiate the animal subject; and
a support member configured to support the light source.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the light emitted by the light source has a relative intensity at wavelengths less than 315 nm of 30% or less.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the light emitted by the light source has a relative intensity at wavelengths less than 315 nm of 5% or less.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a suppressing member disposed in a path of the light emitted by the light source, the suppressing member being configured to suppress transmission of light at wavelengths less than 315 nm.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to any one of claim 1, wherein the peak wavelength of the light emitted by the light source is in the range of 315-325 nm.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:
a second light source configured to emit light having a peak wavelength in a range of 325-335 nm and configured to irradiate the animal subject; and
a switch configured to switch the light that irradiates the animal subject between the light emitted by the first light source and the light emitted by the second light source.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The apparatus according to claim 6, further comprising:
a third light source configured to emit light having a peak wavelength in a range of 305 to 315 nm and configured to irradiate the animal subject,
wherein the switch is configured to switch the light that irradiates to the animal subject between the light emitted by the first light source, the light emitted by the second light source, and the light emitted by the third light source.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the first light source comprises an LED, and wherein the apparatus comprises a controller configured to change the illuminance of the LED.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The apparatus according to claim 8, wherein the LED is configured to emit pulsed light having a pulse width of 10 ms or less and a duty ratio of 10% or less.

### Claim 10

A phototherapeutic apparatus, comprising:
a light emitting unit configured to emit first light having a peak wavelength in a range of 305 to 315 nm and second light having a peak wavelength in a range of 315-335 nm and configured to irradiate an affected area; and
a controller configured to switch the light that irradiates the affected area between the first light and the second light.

### Claim 11

A method of treating a non-human animal subject, comprising irradiating, one or more times, light having a peak wavelength in a range of 315-335 nm to an affected area of the animal subject.

### Claim 12

A method of treating a non-human animal subject, comprising:
performing a first step comprising irradiating skin of the non-human animal subject with light having a first peak wavelength, which is in a range of 315-335 nm at a first irradiation dose; and
one or more days after the first step, performing a second step comprising irradiating the skin with light having a second peak wavelength in the range of 315-335 nm at a second irradiation dose, wherein the second peak wavelength is shorter than the first peak wavelength, and/or the second irradiation dose is higher than the first irradiation dose.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The method according to claim 12, wherein:
the first irradiation dose is 300 mJ/cm2 or less, and
the second irradiation dose is more than 300 mJ/cm2 but less than an irradiation dose that would cause sunburn to the skin.

### Claim 14 (depends on 12)

The method according to claim 12, wherein:
the first peak wavelength is in a range of 325-335 nm, and
the second peak wavelength is in a range of 315-325 nm.

### Claim 15 (depends on 12)

The method according to claim 12, wherein the light irradiated in the first and second steps has a relative illuminance at wavelengths less than 315 nm of 30% or less.

### Claim 16 (depends on 12)

The method according to claim 12, wherein the method is used to treat a disease or disorder mediated by MrgprX2 gene.

### Claim 17 (depends on 12)

The method according to claim 12, wherein the method is used to treat a disease or disorder selected from the group consisting of allergic dermatitis, cutaneous lymphoma, vitiligo, a wound, alopecia, an infectious disease, a skin abscess, and pyoderma.
