## Abstract

A child containment system has a child containment structure with a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom. A bassinet has an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface. The bassinet can be mounted to the child containment structure with the infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure. An infant support unit can have a frame, a bed supported by the frame, and legs that extend from one end infant support unit to the distal second end. The infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which the infant support unit at least partially positioned within the child containment structure with the bed overlying the bassinet's infant support surface, and with a portion of the legs contacting the bassinet's infant support surface.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A child containment system comprising:
a child containment structure comprising a bottom and a perimeter wall, wherein the bottom and perimeter wall define a child containment enclosure;
a bassinet comprising an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface, wherein the bassinet is removably mounted to the child containment structure with the infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure;
an infant support unit having a first end and a distal second end, the infant support unit comprising:
a bed;
a first stand positioned along the first end of the infant support unit; and
a second stand positioned along the second end of the infant support unit,
wherein the infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which at least a portion of the infant support unit including the first stand and the second stand is disposed within the child containment enclosure, with the bed of the infant support unit overlying the infant support surface of the bassinet.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The child containment system of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of each of the first stand and the second stand contacts a top surface of the infant support surface of the bassinet in the first operational mode.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The child containment system of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of each of the first stand and the second stand is disposed below the bed.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The child containment system of claim 1, further comprising a frame, wherein the bed is supported by at least a portion of the frame.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The child containment system of claim 4, wherein the frame comprises a first frame portion adjacent a first end of the bed and a second frame portion adjacent a distal second end of the bed, wherein the first stand extends from the first frame portion to the second frame portion and wherein the second stand extends from the second frame portion to the first frame portion.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The child containment system of claim 5, wherein at least a portion of the first stand extends along a first lateral side of the infant support unit and wherein at least a portion of the second stand extends a second lateral side of the infant support unit opposite the first lateral side.

### Claim 7 (depends on 4)

The child containment system of claim 4, wherein the first stand is rotatably coupled to the frame.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The child containment system of claim 7, wherein the second stand is rotatably coupled to the frame.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The child containment system of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the first stand and at least a portion of the second stand are curved.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The child containment system of claim 1, wherein each of the first stand and the second stand of the infant support unit are pivotable from a first position of the first operational mode to a second stowed position.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The child containment system of claim 1, wherein the first stand and the second stand of the infant support unit are configured to support the bed suspended above a surface in a second operational mode in which the infant support unit is not within the child containment enclosure.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The child containment system of claim 1, wherein the bassinet comprises a plurality of mounting devices, wherein each of the plurality of mounting devices is removably coupled to the perimeter wall of the child containment structure.

### Claim 13

A child containment system comprising:
a child containment structure comprising a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom, wherein the bottom and perimeter wall define a child containment enclosure;
a bassinet comprising an infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure;
an infant support unit having a first end and a distal second end, the infant support unit comprising:
a frame; and
a bed supported by at least a portion of the frame;
a first stand rotatably coupled to the infant support unit;
a second stand rotatably coupled to the infant support unit; and
wherein the infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which at least a portion of the infant support unit, the first stand, and the second stand is disposed within the child containment enclosure, with the bed of the infant support unit overlying the infant support surface of the bassinet.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The child containment system of claim 13, further comprising a changing table removably coupled to the perimeter wall of the child containment structure.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)
