## Abstract

This invention provides a process to prepare consumable food and beverage products with reduced carbon-14 (14C) content. Normal agricultural products capture carbon-dioxide (CO2) with radioactive 14C from atmospheric gases. Agricultural products grown in controlled environments such as a greenhouse with filtered atmospheric gases to remove CO2 with 14C can be harvested and processed into readily consumable products that omit the damage to human DNA that is unavoidable with our current food chain. This process provides food and beverage products with a lower than natural abundance of 14C for consumption.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of preparing consumable food products with a lower than natural abundance of carbon-14 (14C) content comprising:
a. agricultural growth in a controlled environment with a lower than natural abundance of 14C in carbon dioxide,
b. harvest of agricultural products from said agricultural growth,
c. extraction of consumable products from said agricultural products,
d. a means of washing extracted consumable products resulting in washed consumable products,
e. extraction of edible components of said washed consumable products resulting in extracted edible components,
f. a means of pre-dry processing of said extracted edible components, resulting in processed edible components,
g. dehydration of said processed edible components resulting in dehydrated edible components,
h. a means of post-dry processing of said dehydrated edible components, resulting in post-processed dehydrated edible components,
i. an optional means of merging from one up to a plurality of other ingredients with post-processed dehydrated edible components, resulting in a prepared product,
j. packaging of said prepared product,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced 14C are packaged for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1 further comprising:
a. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are powdered to produce a beverage when mixed with water,
b. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are combined with water,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced carbon-14 are packaged as a beverage for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

A method according to claim 2 further comprising:
a. said water constitutes between 80% and 95% of the mass of the beverage,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced carbon-14 are packaged as a beverage for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1 further comprising:
a. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are powdered to produce a beverage when mixed with water,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced carbon-14 are packaged as a beverage that is consumable with the addition of water for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1 further comprising:
a. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are portioned to provide a meal replacement when rehydrated,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced carbon-14 are packaged as a meal replacement that is consumable with the addition of water for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1 further comprising:
a. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are portioned to provide a meal replacement when rehydrated,
b. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are combined with water,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced carbon-14 are packaged as a ready-to-eat meal replacement for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

A method according to claim 6 further comprising:
a. said water constitutes between 80% and 95% of the mass of the meal replacement,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced carbon-14 are packaged as a ready-to-eat meal replacement for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1 further comprising:
a. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are portioned to provide a meal replacement when rehydrated,
b. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are powdered to produce a beverage when mixed with water,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced carbon-14 are packaged as a meal replacement beverage that is consumable with the addition of water for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1 further comprising:
a. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are portioned to provide a meal replacement when rehydrated,
b. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are powdered to produce a beverage when mixed with water,
c. said post-processed dehydrated edible components are combined with water,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced carbon-14 are packaged as a ready-to-drink meal replacement beverage for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

A method according to claim 9 further comprising:
a. said water constitutes between 80% and 95% of the mass of the meal replacement beverage,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced carbon-14 are packaged as a ready-to-drink meal replacement beverage for distribution and consumption.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

A method according to claim 1 further comprising:
a. said packaging of said prepared product is portioned for a hydrated single serving size from 8 to 16 ounces,
whereby said agricultural products with reduced 14C are packaged for distribution and consumption in a convenient serving size.
