Abstract
A latch system for a tonneau cover. The latch system includes a handle that is configured to move about an axis; and a latch pin connected to the handle. The latch pin is configured to move in a retracted direction and during movement of the handle towards the tonneau cover.
Claims22
1) A latch system for a tonneau cover, the latch system comprising:
- a handle that is configured to be moved;
- a bar;
- a cam follower having a contact portion;
- and
- a latch pin connected to the cam follower;
- wherein upon movement of the handle in a direction generally towards the tonneau cover, the bar is moved in a direction of the tonneau cover, which causes the cam follower to rotate and move the latch pin in a retracted direction.

7) A latch system for a tonneau cover, the tonneau cover having at least one panel, the latch system comprising:
- a handle;
- a latch pin;
- and
- a mechanism that is configured to convert rotation of the handle into axial movement of the latch pin;
- wherein rotation of the handle in a direction generally towards the panel causes the latch pin to move, and
- wherein the mechanism comprises a bar, a cam follower, and one or more links between the cam follower and the latch pin.
