Abstract
A system and method is used to monitor, control, and/or provide feedback relative to one or more factors related to a patient's body, such as a shoulder, pursuant to a treatment process. Claims21
(canceled)
A method of monitoring and providing feedback regarding muscle activity associated with a musculoskeletal condition of a patient to aid a patient's recovery, the method comprising:
- positioning a monitoring device on the skin of a patient in a region associated with the musculoskeletal condition of the patient, the monitoring device comprising a patch having at least one sensor that detects muscle activity of the patient in the region;
- activating the monitoring device;
- the at least one sensor detecting muscle activity of the patient in the region;
- determining whether the detected muscle activity of the patient exceeds a predetermined threshold;
- and
- provide feedback to the patient when it is determined that the muscle activity in the region exceeds the predetermined threshold.
A method of monitoring and providing feedback regarding muscle activity associated with a surgical repair of a musculoskeletal condition of a patient to aid a patient's recovery, the method comprising:
- positioning a monitoring device that detects muscle activity of a patient on the skin of the patient in a region associated with the musculoskeletal condition of the patient;
- selecting a threshold of muscle activity to support recovery;
- activating the monitoring device;
- the monitoring device detecting muscle activity of the patient in the region;
- determining whether the detected muscle activity of the patient exceeds the threshold;
- and
- provide feedback to the patient when it is determined that the muscle activity in the region exceeds the threshold.
