Abstract
Methods and systems for data auto-tiering are disclosed. According to some embodiments, the method receives a multiplicity of data streams. For each data stream, the method detects a data change within the data stream. The method further determines a magnitude of the data change. The method further assigns a tier level to the data stream based on the magnitude of the data change.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method of data auto-tiering, comprising:
- receiving a plurality of data streams;
- and
- for each data stream,
- detecting a data change within the data stream,
- determining a magnitude of the data change, and
- assigning a tier level to the data stream based on the magnitude of the data change.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium having instructions stored therein, which when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
- receiving a plurality of data streams;
- and
- for each data stream,
- detecting a data change within the data stream,
- determining a magnitude of the data change, and
- assigning a tier level to the data stream based on the magnitude of the data change.
A data processing system, comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processor to store instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
- receiving a plurality of data streams;
- and
- for each data stream,
- detecting a data change within the data stream,
- determining a magnitude of the data change, and
- assigning a tier level to the data stream based on the magnitude of the data change.
