Abstract
Magnet wire with corona resistant enamel insulation may include a conductor, and at least one layer of polymeric enamel insulation may be formed around the conductor. The polymeric enamel insulation may include a filler dispersed in a base polyamideimide material. The filler may include between 20 percent and 80 percent by weight of silica dioxide and between 20 and 80 percent by weight of titanium dioxide. Additionally, the polymeric enamel insulation may have a thermal index of at least 230° C. and a thermal index that is at least twice that of the base polymeric material.
Claims20
A magnet wire comprising:
- a conductor;
- and
- at least one layer of polymeric enamel insulation formed around the conductor, the polymeric enamel insulation comprising a filler dispersed in a base polyamideimide material,
- wherein the filler comprises between 20 percent and 80 percent by weight of silica dioxide and between 20 and 80 percent by weight of titanium dioxide,
- wherein the polymeric enamel insulation has a thermal index of 230° C. or greater, and
- wherein the polymeric enamel insulation has a first thermal conductivity that is at least twice that of a second thermal conductivity of the base polyimide material.
A magnet wire comprising:
- a conductor;
- and
- filled polymeric enamel insulation formed around the conductor, the filled polymeric enamel insulation comprising between 15 percent and 35 percent by weight of a filler dispersed in a base polyamideimide material,
- wherein the filler comprises between 20 percent and 80 percent by weight of silica dioxide and between 20 and 80 percent by weight of titanium dioxide,
- wherein the filled polymeric enamel insulation has a thermal index of 230° C. or greater. and
The magnet wire of claim 20, wherein the at least one basecoat layer comprises polyester.
