Vehicle docking stations heartbeat and security

A vehicle docking station, comprising:

• a non-transitory memory;
• and
• one or more hardware processors coupled to the non-transitory memory and configured to read instructions from the non-transitory memory to cause the vehicle docking station to perform operations comprising:
• detecting that a communication link, that is between the vehicle docking station and a management server remote to the vehicle docking station, is unavailable;
• determining a vehicle within a distance threshold from the vehicle docking station;
• establishing a temporary communication connection with the vehicle while the communication link is unavailable;
• and
• transmitting station data associated with the vehicle docking station to the management server via the temporary communication connection.

A method, comprising:

• in response to receiving first heartbeat signals from a vehicle docking station, transmitting, by a management server remote to the vehicle docking station via a first communication connection, a first acknowledgement signal indicating a receipt of the first heartbeat signals to the vehicle docking station, wherein the first heartbeat signals comprise station data associated with the vehicle docking station;
• receiving, by the management server from a remote device, a request to establish a second communication connection with the remote device;
• establishing, by the management server, the second communication connection with the remote device;
• and
• in response to receiving second heartbeat signals from the vehicle docking station via the second communication connection, transmitting, by the management server to the vehicle docking station via the second communication connection established with the remote device, a second acknowledgement signal indicating a receipt of the second heartbeat signals.

A non-transitory machine-readable memory having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a vehicle docking station to perform operations comprising:

• determining that a connectivity between the vehicle docking station and the management server is unavailable;
• determining that a remote device is within a distance threshold from the vehicle docking station;
• establishing a communication connection with the remote device;
• and
• transmitting station data associated with the vehicle docking station to the management server via the communication connection.
