## Abstract

An encoder includes circuitry and memory connected to the circuitry. In operation, the circuitry corrects a base motion vector using a correction value in a fixed direction; and encodes a current partition by using the corrected base motion vector corrected. The correction value is specified by an index indicating one of correction values included in a table. The table is selected from among a plurality of tables, wherein the correction values in one of the plurality of tables have different increments from the correction values in another one of the plurality of tables.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A decoder, comprising:
circuitry; and
memory connected to the circuitry,
wherein, in operation, the circuitry:
corrects a base motion vector using a correction value in a fixed direction; and
decodes a current partition by using the corrected base motion vector corrected,
wherein the correction value is specified by an index indicating one of correction values included in a table, and
the table is selected from among a plurality of tables, wherein the correction values in one of the plurality of tables have different increments from the correction values in another one of the plurality of tables.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The decoder according to claim 1,
wherein the plurality of tables include a first table including the correction values that are sub-pixel values, and a second table including the correction values that are integer-pixel values.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The decoder according to claim 2,
wherein the correction values in the first table are quarter-pixel values.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The decoder according to claim 1,
wherein the correction value is specified by the index and a first parameter, and the first parameter indicates the table to be selected from among the plurality of tables.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The decoder according to claim 1,
wherein the current partition is included in a picture.

### Claim 6

An encoder, comprising:
circuitry; and
memory connected to the circuitry,
wherein, in operation, the circuitry:
corrects a base motion vector using a correction value in a fixed direction; and
encodes a current partition by using the corrected base motion vector corrected,
wherein the correction value is specified by an index indicating one of correction values included in a table, and
the table is selected from among a plurality of tables, wherein the correction values in one of the plurality of tables have different increments from the correction values in another one of the plurality of tables.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The encoder according to claim 6,
wherein the plurality of tables include a first table including the correction values that are sub-pixel values, and a second table including the correction values that are integer-pixel values.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The encoder according to claim 7,
wherein the correction values in the first table are quarter-pixel values.

### Claim 9 (depends on 6)

The encoder according to claim 6,
wherein the correction value is specified by the index and a first parameter, and the first parameter indicates the table to be selected from among the plurality of tables.

### Claim 10 (depends on 6)

The encoder according to claim 6,
wherein the current partition is included in a picture.
