## Abstract

For linguistic alignment in specific user targeted messaging, a linguistics preference set is calculated for a specific user using cognitive models with specific user data as input. A messaging channel is selected according to the linguistics preference set, where the linguistics preference set includes one or more sets of linguistic traits preferred by the specific user. A location of the specific user is determined. A set of linguistic traits applicable to a customized message is determined based on the linguistics preference set for the specific user and the location of the specific user. The customized message is generated to incorporate the set of linguistic traits and sent only to the specific user over the selected messaging channel, providing a multi-level linguistic alignment between the specific user and the linguistics used in the message.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A computer implemented method for linguistic alignment in specific user targeted messaging comprising:
calculating, by a computer system, a linguistics preference set for a specific user using cognitive models with specific user data as input;
selecting, by the computer system, a messaging channel according to the linguistics preference set, the linguistics preference set comprising one or more sets of linguistic traits preferred by the specific user;
determining, by the computer system, a location of the specific user;
determining, by the computer system, a set of linguistic traits applicable to a customized message based on the linguistics preference set for the specific user and the location of the specific user;
generating, by the computer system, the customized message to incorporate the set of linguistic traits; and
sending, by the computer system, the customized message only to the specific user over the selected messaging channel.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the calculating of the linguistics preference set for the specific user comprises:
identifying, by the computer system using the cognitive models, patterns and trends in the specific user data;
inferring, by the computer system, from the patterns and trends using the cognitive models, personality insights for the specific user;
inferring, by the computer system, from the patterns and trends using the cognitive models, situational insights for the specific user; and
inferring, by the computer system, from the personality insights and the situation insights and using the cognitive models, the linguistics preference set for the specific user.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the location of the user comprises a predicted location of the specific user selected according to a context of the customized message.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the set of linguistic traits comprise at least a language and slang terms associated with the location of the specific user, wherein the determining of the set of linguistic traits applicable to the customized message comprises:
identifying, by the computer system, a language and slang corpora associated with the location of the specific user.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4, wherein the generating of the customized message comprises:
generating, by the computer system, the customized message in the language and incorporating the slang terms.

### Claim 6

A computer program product for linguistic alignment in specific user targeted messaging, the computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to:
calculate a linguistics preference set for a specific user using cognitive models with specific user data as input;
select a messaging channel according to the linguistics preference set, the linguistics preference set comprising one or more sets of linguistic traits preferred by the specific user;
determine a location of the specific user;
determine a set of linguistic traits applicable to a customized message based on the linguistics preference set for the specific user and the location of the specific user;
generate the customized message to incorporate the set of linguistic traits; and
send the customized message only to the specific user over the selected messaging channel.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The computer program product of claim 6, wherein in the calculating of the linguistics preference set for the specific user, the processor is further cause to:
identify, using the cognitive models, patterns and trends in the specific user data;
infer, from the patterns and trends using the cognitive models, personality insights for the specific user;
infer, from the patterns and trends using the cognitive models, situational insights for the specific user; and
infer, from the personality insights and the situation insights and using the cognitive models, the linguistics preference set for the specific user.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

The computer program product of claim 6, wherein the location of the user comprises a predicted location of the specific user selected according to a context of the customized message.

### Claim 9 (depends on 6)

The computer program product of claim 6, wherein the set of linguistic traits comprise at least a language and slang terms associated with the location of the specific user, wherein in the determining of the set of linguistic traits applicable to the customized message, the processor is further cause to:
identify a language and slang corpora associated with the location of the specific user.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The computer program product of claim 9, wherein in the generating of the customized message, the processor is further caused to:
generate the customized message in the language and incorporating the slang terms.

### Claim 11

A system comprising:
a processor; and
a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to:
calculate a linguistics preference set for a specific user using cognitive models with specific user data as input;
select a messaging channel according to the linguistics preference set, the linguistics preference set comprising one or more sets of linguistic traits preferred by the specific user;
determine a location of the specific user;
determine a set of linguistic traits applicable to a customized message based on the linguistics preference set for the specific user and the location of the specific user;
generate the customized message to incorporate the set of linguistic traits; and
send the customized message only to the specific user over the selected messaging channel.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, wherein in the calculating of the linguistics preference set for the specific user, the processor is further cause to:
identify, using the cognitive models, patterns and trends in the specific user data;
