Abstract
Signal analysis arrangements and techniques for electrical signals monitored by oscilloscope devices are discussed herein. In one example, a method includes obtaining one or more digital images that capture an oscilloscope user interface presenting a trace of a signal monitored by the oscilloscope, and processing at least the trace in the one or more digital images to decode a connotation of the signal. Based at least on the connotation, the method includes generating an annotation overlay indicating one or more characteristics of the signal.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- obtaining a file comprising at least a digital image captured of an oscilloscope user interface while rendering a trace of a signal monitored by the oscilloscope;
- performing image recognition on at least the digital image to identify properties of the trace;
- based on the properties of the trace, decoding a connotation of the signal represented by the trace;
- and
- generating an annotation overlay that presents an indication of the connotation concurrent with presentation of at least the digital image on a display.
A signal annotation system, comprising:
- an image interface configured to obtain a file comprising at least a digital image captured of an oscilloscope user interface while rendering a trace of a signal monitored by the oscilloscope;
- a signal interpreter configured to perform image recognition on at least the digital image to identify properties of the trace, and based on the properties of the trace, decode a connotation of the signal represented by the trace;
- and
- an overlay generator configured to generate an annotation overlay for a display that presents an indication of the connotation concurrent with presentation of at least the digital image.
An apparatus, comprising:
- one or more computer readable storage media;
- a processing system operatively coupled with the one or more computer readable storage media;
- and
- program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage media that, based on being read and executed by the processing system, direct the processing system to at least:
- obtain a file comprising at least a digital image captured of an oscilloscope user interface while rendering a trace of a signal monitored by the oscilloscope;
- perform image recognition on at least the digital image to identify properties of the trace;
- based on the properties of the trace, decode a connotation of the signal represented by the trace, the connotation comprising at least one among a digital codeword carried by the signal and a transaction type indicated by the signal;
- and
- generate an annotation overlay for a display that presents an indication of the connotation concurrent with presentation of at least the digital image.
