Abstract
Methods and systems are provided for an actuation system for a driveline shifting member in a transmission system of a vehicle. In one example, a system may include an actuator coupled to a lever arm via one or more parallel axis gears, and a shaft connecting the lever arm to a driveline shifting member, the lever arm driven via a rolling element housed within a slot in the lever arm aligned with a center of a parallel axis gear of the one or more parallel axis gears.
Claims20
An actuation system in a transmission system in a vehicle, comprising:
- an actuator coupled to a lever arm via one or more parallel axis gears;
- and
- a shaft connecting the lever arm to a driveline shifting member, the lever arm driven via an eccentric rolling element housed within a slot in the lever arm.
A method for a transmission system, comprising:
- rotating a parallel axis gear coupled to a lever arm through a dowel in a slot of the lever arm, the dowel fixed to the parallel axis gear, to rotate the lever arm;
- and
- engaging and disengaging a driveline shifting member by the rotation of the lever arm, the rotational degrees of the lever arm substantially less than rotational degrees of the parallel axis gear.
A system for a vehicle, comprising:
- a controller with computer-readable instructions stored on non-transitory memory that when executed cause the controller to:
- during a first condition, rotate an actuator coupled to a parallel axis gear system in a first direction to rotate a lever arm in a second direction and shift a shift fork to a first position to engage a first gear of a transmission system;
- and
- during a second condition, rotate the actuator coupled to the parallel axis gear system in a second direction to rotate the lever arm in a first direction and shift a shift fork to a second position to engage a second gear of the transmission system.
