Flat cable and method of manufacturing flat cable

A method of manufacturing a flat cable including

• a plurality of conductors arranged in parallel;
• an insulating layer formed, on first surfaces of the plurality of conductors and on second surfaces that are opposite surfaces of the first surfaces, along the plurality of conductors;
• an exposed portion where the first surfaces at end portions of the conductors are exposed to outside;
• and
• a reinforcement plate formed on the second surfaces opposite to the exposed portion, the method comprising:
• an attachment step of attaching, to the conductors, first insulating layers arranged via a first interval on the first surfaces, second insulating layers arranged via a second interval on the second surfaces at locations corresponding to locations via the first interval;
• and a reinforcement plate that is longer than the second interval;
• and
• a division step of dividing the reinforcement plate in a longitudinal direction of the conductors.
