Abstract
A mounting device including a base having an open bottom, a longitudinal axis, and a linear guide on the base. The linear guide guides support hardware in linear movement along the longitudinal axis. An internal cavity is under the base for containing a sealant against and in cooperation with a roof when the mounting device is secured to the roof. An opening is though the base is for receiving a fastener when the mounting device is secured to the roof. The opening is in communication with the internal cavity. The linear guide extends beyond the internal cavity.
Claims26
A mounting device comprising:
- a base including an open bottom, a longitudinal axis, and a linear guide on the base, the linear guide for guiding support hardware in linear movement along the longitudinal axis;
- an internal cavity under the base for containing a sealant against and in cooperation with a roof when the mounting device is secured to the roof;
- and
- an opening though the base for receiving a fastener when the mounting device is secured to the roof, the opening in communication with the internal cavity;
- wherein the linear guide extends beyond the internal cavity.
A mounting device comprising:
- a base including a top, an opposed bottom, a longitudinal axis, and a linear guide on the base, the linear guide for holding and guiding support hardware in linear movement along the longitudinal axis;
- an internal cavity under the base;
- an opening formed through the base for receiving a fastener, the opening joined in communication with the internal cavity such that the fastener, when applied to the opening, extends through the opening and the internal cavity;
- and
- a seal around the internal cavity, the seal for compression against a roof when the mounting device is secured to the roof and wherein the linear guide extends beyond the seal.
A mounting device comprising:
- a base including an internal cavity, a longitudinal axis, a width axis transverse the longitudinal axis, and a linear guide on the base;
- and
- an opening though the base for receiving a fastener, the opening in communication with the internal cavity;
- wherein the base has a width dimension parallel to the width axis;
- the internal cavity has a dimension parallel to the width axis;
- and
- the width dimension is more than the dimension of the internal cavity.
A mounting device comprising:
- a base having an open bottom, an inner surface, and an internal cavity bound by the inner surface of the base, wherein the open bottom is in communication with the internal cavity;
- a linear guide on the base, wherein the linear guide has a length and is configured to receive, slide, and secure support hardware along the length;
- and
- the open bottom of the base has a dimension parallel to the length of the liner guide, which dimension is less than said length.
