Abstract
Methods for fabricating dendritic structures and tags include introducing an electrolyte material onto a substrate, into a substrate, or both onto and into a substrate, and applying an electrical potential to at least one pair of electrodes positioned on the substrate to form one or more dendritic structures on the substrate.

A method of forming dendritic structures, the method comprising:
- introducing an electrolyte material onto a substrate, into a substrate, or both onto and into a substrate;
- applying an electrical potential to at least one pair of electrodes positioned on the substrate to form one or more dendritic structures on the substrate;
- and
- rinsing the substrate to remove excess electrolyte.

A method of forming dendritic structures, the method comprising:
- introducing an electrolyte material onto a substrate, into a substrate, or both onto and into a substrate;
- applying an electrical potential to at least one pair of electrodes positioned on the substrate;
- solubilizing one of the electrodes in the at least one pair of electrodes to form one or more dendritic structures on the opposing electrode in the at least one pair of electrodes positioned on the substrate;
- and
- fixing the substrate after formation of the one or more dendritic structures.
