Abstract
Disclosed herein are tire tread rubber compositions comprising a specified elastomer component, reinforcing silica filler, a specified hydrocarbon resin, oil, and a cure package. The elastomer component includes styrene-butadiene rubber; polybutadiene; and natural rubber, polyisoprene, or a combination thereof.

A tire tread rubber composition for an all weather tire comprising
- a. 100 parts of an elastomer component comprising
- i. 5-40 parts of polybutadiene rubber having a cis bond content of at least 95% and a Tg of less than −101° C.,
- ii. 20-55 parts of at least one styrene-butadiene rubber having a Tg of about −50 to about −75° C., and
- iii. 21-55 parts of natural rubber, polyisoprene, or a combination thereof;
- b. 80-140 phr of at least one reinforcing silica filler having a surface area of about 100 to about 400 m2/g;
- c. 30-50 phr of at least one hydrocarbon resin having a Tg of about 30 to about 50° C.;
- d. 10-30 phr of oil;
- and
- e. a cure package.

A tire tread rubber composition for an all weather tire comprising
- a. 100 parts of an elastomer component comprising

- i. 10-30 parts of polybutadiene having a cis bond content of at least 95% and a Tg of less than −101° C.,
- ii. 20-55 parts of at least one styrene-butadiene rubber having a Tg of about −50 to about −65° C. and having a silica-reactive functional group,
- iii. 31-50 parts of natural rubber, polyisoprene, or a combination thereof;
- b. 100-130 phr of at least one reinforcing silica filler having a surface area of about 100 to about 140 m2/g and no more than 20 phr of carbon black filler,
- c. 30-50 phr of at least one aromatic hydrocarbon resin having a Tg of about 30 to about 50° C.,
- d. 10-24 phr of oil, and
- e. a cure package.
