Abstract
The present invention relates to a composition comprising at least one human milk oligosaccharide and/or a precursor thereof, for use in preventing and/or treating necrotizing enterocolitis in infants or young children born by C-section.

A method for achieving at least one result selected from the group consisting of improving gut protection against microbial and pathogen overgrowth, promoting gut development and maturation, decreasing gut inflammation, promoting enteral feeding tolerance, and preventing any diseases and complications associated thereof, in an infant or young child born by C-section, the method comprising:
- administering an effective amount of a composition comprising a mixture of human milk oligosaccharides to the infant or young child born by C-section,
- the mixture comprising 2′-fucosyllactose (2FL) that is 60 to 70 wt. % of the mixture of human milk oligosaccharides.
