Abstract
One object of the present invention is to provide an inhibitor for renal injuries induced by an iodinated contrast medium. In this invention, cilastatin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is used.

A method for inhibiting renal injuries induced by an iodinated contrast medium, the method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an inhibitor comprising cilastatin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active component, wherein the iodinated contrast medium is selected from the group consisting of ioversol, iomeprol, iodixanol, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
