Grid-tied variable frequency facility

A method to manage loading of motorized devices in a renewable energy system, the method comprising:

• receiving one or more first DC power signals from one or more corresponding, energy sources associated with the renewable energy system;
• varying a duty cycle of the one or more first DC power signals responsive to a control signal to provide one or more modulated DC power signals, wherein the one or more modulated DC power signals are synchronized;
• combining the one or more modulated DC power signals to provide a resultant DC power signal;
• converting the resultant DC power signal to a variable frequency and/or voltage AC power signal responsive to the control signal;
• providing the variable frequency and/or voltage power signal to one or more motorized loads associated with the renewable energy system;
• sensing characteristics of the resultant DC power signal and the variable frequency and/or voltage AC power signal;
• and
• providing the control signal based at least in part on the sensed characteristics of the resultant DC power signal and the variable frequency AC power signal.

A power controller for a micro grid, the power controller comprising:

• a processor and memory configured to store instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to receive sensed power characteristics from one or more sensors and provide one or more control signals based at least in part on the sensed power characteristics;
• pulse width modulation circuitry in communication with one or more DC energy sources, each DC energy source configured to generate a DC power signal, the pulse width modulation circuitry configured to provide, responsive to the one or more control signals, pulse width modulation to the DC power signals;
• a bus bar in communication with the pulse width modulation circuitry, the bus bar configured to receive a rectified AC power signal and the modulated DC power signals and to provide a combined DC signal;
• and
• a frequency variable inverter configured to receive the combined DC signal, to convert, responsive to the one or more control signals, the combined DC signal into a variable frequency AC signal, and to provide the variable frequency and/or voltage variable AC signal to loads in communication with the power controller.
