Data validation using encode values

A non-transitory, computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that are executable by a data monitoring system to perform operations comprising:

• retrieving a plurality of datasets from a live database at a non-production datacenter;
• performing encoding operations on the plurality of datasets to generate encode values corresponding to the plurality of datasets;
• retrieving an updated dataset from an experimental database at the non-production datacenter;
• performing validation operations on the updated dataset, wherein the validation operations include:
• retrieving the encode values corresponding to the plurality of datasets;
• and
• using the encode values to validate one or more characteristics of the updated dataset;
• and
• generating a validation output indicative of a result of the validation operations.

A method, comprising:

• retrieving, by a data monitoring system, an updated dataset from an experimental database at a non-production datacenter;
• prior to storing the updated dataset in a first live database at a production datacenter, performing, by the data monitoring system, validation operations on the updated dataset, wherein the validation operations include:
• retrieving encode values corresponding to a plurality of datasets, wherein the plurality of datasets is maintained in a second live database at the non-production datacenter;
• and
• using the encode values to validate one or more characteristics of the updated dataset;
• and
• in response to a determination that the updated dataset passes the validation operations, storing the updated dataset in a second database at the production datacenter used to host one or more web services.
