A method of cyclic bending a tension element over a pulley, the tension element comprising high performance fibers and having a core temperature not exceeding 70° C., the method comprising a step of decreasing the temperature of the pulley by using a closed cooling system that is in contact with the pulley comprising a cooling medium in the range of −60 to 70° C.
