Abstract
A foot and hand pedaled bicycle assembly that facilitates a full body working during riding includes a bicycle that has a front wheel, a rear wheel and a frame. The frame has a top member and a lower member that each pivotally extends between a seat post and a handlebar fork. The handlebar fork is urgeable toward or away from the seat post. A pair of pedals is provided and each of the pedals is rotatably coupled to the frame for rotating the rear wheel. A pair of hand cranks is provided and each of the hand cranks is coupled to the handlebar fork for steering the bicycle. Moreover, each of the hand cranks is in mechanical communication with the front wheel for rotating the front wheel when the hand cranks are cranked.
Claims10
A foot and hand pedaled bicycle assembly being configured to be pedaled with a user's feet and a user's hands for a full body exercise, said assembly comprising:
- a bicycle having a front wheel, a rear wheel and a frame, said frame having a top member and a lower member each pivotally extending between a seat post and a handlebar fork, said handlebar fork being urgeable toward or away from said seat post;
- a pair of pedals, each of said pedals being rotatably coupled to said frame;
- a first chain being coupled around said pedals and said rear wheel for rotating said rear wheel when said pedals are pedaled by a rider;
- a pair of hand cranks, each of said hand cranks being rotatably coupled to handlebar fork steering said bicycle;
- a pair of crank gears, each of said crank gears being coupled to a receptive one of said hand cranks such that each of said crank gears is rotated when said hand cranks are cranked;
- a pair of second chains, each of said second chains being coupled around said hand cranks and said front wheel for rotating said front when said hand cranks are cranked;
- and
- a pair of roller units, each of said rollers units being positionable on a support surface, each of said roller units having a wheel slot therein, said wheel slot in each of said roller units insertably receiving a respective one of said front wheel or said rear wheel of said bicycle wherein said bicycle is configured to remain stationary when said bicycle is ridden.
A foot and hand pedaled bicycle assembly being configured to be pedaled with a user's feet and a user's hands for a full body exercise, said assembly comprising:
- a bicycle having a front wheel, a rear wheel and a frame, said frame having a top member and a lower member each pivotally extending between a seat post and a handlebar fork, each of said top member and said lower member having a first end and a second end, said first end of each of said top member and said lower member being pivotally coupled to said seat post, said top member being positioned adjacent to an top end of said seat post, said lower member being positioned adjacent to a bottom end of said seat post, said second end of each of said top member and said lower member being pivotally coupled to said handlebar fork, wherein said seat post, said top member and said lower member define a generally triangular shape having said seat post defining a base of said triangular shape, each of said top member and said lower member having a first portion slidably receiving a second portion such that each of said top member and said lower member has a telescopically adjustable length thereby facilitating said handlebar fork to be urgeable toward or away from said seat post;
- a pair of pedals, each of said pedals being rotatably coupled to said frame, said pair of pedals including a pedal gear;
- a first chain being coupled around said pedals and said rear wheel for rotating said rear wheel when said pedals are pedaled by a rider, said first chain extending around said pedal gear and a sprocket on said rear wheel;
- a pair of hand cranks, each of said hand cranks being rotatably coupled to handlebar fork, said hand cranks rotating said handlebar fork about a vertical axis when said hand cranks are turned left or right for steering said bicycle, each of said hand cranks having a central portion pivotally extending between a first portion and a second portion, said first portion of each of said hand cranks being rotatably coupled to said handlebar fork having said first portion of each of said hand cranks extending along a perpendicular axis with respect to said vertical axis of said handlebar fork, said second portion of each of said hand cranks being directed away from said handlebar fork wherein said second portion of each of said hand cranks is configured to be gripped by the rider for steering said bicycle, said first portion of each of said hand cranks being rotatable about said perpendicular axis when said hand cranks are cranked by the rider;
- a pair of crank gears, each of said crank gears being coupled to a receptive one of said hand cranks such that each of said crank gears is rotated when said hand cranks are cranked, each of said crank gears being positioned on said first portion of said respective hand crank;
- a pair of second chains, each of said second chains being coupled around said hand cranks and said front wheel for rotating said front when said hand cranks are cranked, each of said second chains extending around a respective one of said cranks gears and a respective one of a pair of sprockets on said front wheel;
- a pair of roller units, each of said rollers units being positionable on a support surface, each of said roller units having a wheel slot therein, said wheel slot in each of said roller units insertably receiving a respective one of said front wheel or said rear wheel of said bicycle wherein said bicycle is configured to remain stationary when said bicycle is ridden, each of said roller units having a top side and a bottom side, said wheel slot in each of said roller units extending downwardly into said top side, each of said roller units including a plurality of rollers each being rotatably positioned within a respective one of said roller units thereby facilitating said front wheel and said rear wheel to rotate;
- and
- a plurality of supports, each of said supports being removably coupled between said bicycle and a respective one of said roller units when said bicycle is positioned in said roller units, each of said supports retaining said bicycle in an upright position, each of said supports extending upwardly from said top side of said respective roller unit, each of said supports engaging an axle of a respective one of said front wheel or said rear wheel when said bicycle is positioned in said roller unit.
